Uniformed Division

The
Uniformed Division consists of the Patrol Operations Branch and the Community
Policing Branch. These officers are the first responders for calls for service
within the City.
The Patrol Operations Branch officers are responsible for the protection of life
and property, the prevention of crime, the enforcement of all Federal and
Provincial Statutes, and some Municipal By-Laws. The Patrol Operations
Branch provides support services such as traffic management, canine, and public
order. The Community Policing Branch
provides a variety of specialized support services to the community such as
crime prevention, community foot patrol, school safety and diversity.
Officers work a variety of shifts throughout the day and the officer's respond
to calls for service on a priority basis with those calls that are likely to
endanger the life of any person taking top priority. Other officers of the
Uniformed Division are assigned to the Headquarters Reception Unit and the
Police Reporting Centre, where citizens call or attend to report incidents.
Members of the Uniformed Division continually strive to provide a professional
and efficient police service that serves all needs of our diverse community. Our
