Police Cadet Recruiting Information
The London Police Service is proud to provide the opportunity for applicants to
compete for employment as a cadet. The cadet program is a two year

knowledge during their apprenticeship. We currently employ 20 cadets.
To be eligible to become a cadet, you must:
- Meet the minimum requirements as stated in Ontario's
Police Services Act;
- Possess a valid G class driver's license with no more than six
accumulated demerit points; and
- Successfully complete cadet testing.
Cadet duties consist of:
- Maintenance of the Headquarters Detention Unit;
- Confidential file management and courier service;
- Security duties at the Provincial Court House; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Cadets are paid employees of the London Police Service and are
eligible to collect comprehensive benefits. Requirements of the
program are:
- Completion of the
Applicant Testing Services (ATS) Ontario Association of Chiefs
of Police (OACP) certificate prior to being considered for a cadet
recruit position;
- Achievement of a passing standard on the
Ontario
Police Fitness Awards Program "PIN" Test during each of the two
years of employment as a cadet; and
- Maintenance of a suitable work performance during the duration
of the cadet contract with the London Police Service.
Police cadets who meet the requirements of their contracts may be
selected to attend the
Ontario
Police College (OPC) where they will train to begin their
careers as police constables.
Submit your application to be invited in for the next cadet
testing date!
Candidates without a valid OACP certificate are required to write
an Aptitude test and pass the "PIN"
test. Those with the OACP certificate will only be required to
complete the "PIN" test.
