Resignation of Mayor Joe Fontana from the London Police Services Board
The London Police Services Board today announced the resignation of
Mayor Joe Fontana from the Board, effective immediately.
The Board met earlier today and has formally accepted the Mayor's
resignation. The Board has issued a letter to the City Clerk's Office as
required by the Police Services Act, which mandates the Board's
governance role. The letter to the City Clerk includes the following:
- Advisement of the resignation;
- Advisement that a member as defined by section 27 (5) (a) of the
Police Services Act is required; and
- Requesting that Council make the required appointment.
The London Police Services Board is the civilian body responsible for
governing the London Police Service. It is responsible for the provision
of adequate and effective police services to the City of London.

Services Board:
